The Baptism of the Lord reminds us of our own Baptism

Dear Parishioners, today’s feast of the Baptism of the Lord reminds us of our own Baptism. When we were baptised, we were anointed with the oil of Baptism and the oil of Chrism. These anointings remind us of our role as baptised members of the Church to be prophetic voices in the world today. The promises that were made on the day of our baptism serve to remind us of our rejection of evil and we profess our belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. As we once again celebrate this feast day, we will renew at Mass our baptismal promises and we rejoice in our own Baptism as we continue to profess our faith by word and deed in the world today. God bless, Fr Andrew.
