choirWe are a group of people of all ages who serve the parish through preparing music for the liturgy at the 11am Mass on Sundays and for the major feasts and parish celebrations. We practice together in church on a Tuesday evening, usually twice a month. Musicians arrive at 7.45pm and singers at 8pm and we aim to finish our practice at 9pm. We also meet every month to plan music for the liturgies, based on the scriptural texts in the Lectionary for each occasion – and we gather together for various social occasions during the year.

During July of alternate years, members of the group participate in the National Network of Pastoral Musicians weekend conference where we continue our formation and explore new music together with composers and other musicians working in parishes around the country.)

You do not have to be a skilled musician or operatic singer to join us – all are welcome! If you simply enjoy singing or would like to add your musical instrument’s voice to the group and are interested in coming along we would love to see you. Tuesday practices will be announced in the newsletter and extra practices are sometimes arranged in advance of major feasts.

We will be preparing for the Advent carol service and Christmas Masses on Tuesday 13th December and Tuesday 20th December and will be delighted to have some extra people to share the music with us. If you would like to know more, please get in touch with Helena Madden
