Peace be with you

Dear Parishioners
One of the things I like about the resurrection appearances of Jesus is that he simply just ‘pops up.’ One minute he is in a garden, then in a room with the doors closed, on another occasion he is on the beach, he even meets two disciples on the road to Emmaus. Each time the resurrected Lord does this it is with no announcement, and as in today’s Gospel reading, he often catches the disciples completely by surprise. His first words, however, are always ones of reassurance, ‘Peace be with you.’ As we continue our journey through Easter together perhaps, we need to keep our eyes open this week for the God who simply, unannounced, ‘Pops up.’ God bless, Deacon Sean.
